It's the look no one really wants...
Today we went to see Dr. Park, who is an ENT, to get a better look at what’s going on with my airway. He had to stick this long camera up my nose and down my throat. It wasn’t the most comfortable thing, but it was okay and pretty cool to see what was going on inside. All in all, it was a good visit, we left feeling we got some great info, but still needed a bit more to decide our next steps.
I was feeling pretty good, I got into the car with my parents to drive home, and my Dad started talking about surgery, and very casually threw in how I would need to get braces on pretty soon if that’s the route we were going.
Well I just about lost it. I had no idea braces were part of this whole thing.
I have had braces for a number of years already- from adolescent years, to high school years, and even some Invisalign after that. I had to do this AGAIN!? It totally caught me off guard and left me in tears and questioning everything. Do I really want to go through with the surgery, Do I want to be on camera constantly, Why do I really need braces? Not feeling great right now.
